This digital exhibition highlights the historic architecture in the Village of Kenilworth. Any house or building over 100 years old is drawn out on an interactive map. Given the digital nature of the exhibition and the flexibly of the Omeka software, structures can be easily added each year as they turn 100. Eventually, every building in the Village can be featured on the site.
To provide access in the museum we designed and built a physical display featuring a 100 year old street sign from the museum’s collection and an iPad for visitors to browse the site.
The map will populate with more houses as the time line is adjusted. Visitors can see photos of the houses and information such as build date and architect by clicking on a structure’s outline. There is also an option to browse by build date, architect, or address. This map illustrates the growth of the Village and the demolition of significant buildings.
